Nick Purler owns and coaches at Purler Wrestling Academy, based out of Wentzville, Missouri. Highlights among his wrestling career include being an NCAA All-American, as well as a member of three NCAA championship teams, at Oklahoma State University. Nick is also a 2x Junior National Champion, 3x Missouri State High School Champion, and ASICS DREAM TEAM member. At Purler Wrestling Academy, he has coached over 2,000 state medalists, hundreds of national champions, and conducts wrestling camps all over America. Juliet Lilledahl Scherer, PhD, is Professor of English at St. Louis Community College. She co-authored Community Colleges and the Access Effect, an extension of her award-winning doctoral dissertation. A softball catcher at St. Louis Community College - Meramec, Juliet earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors and later was inducted into the Meramec Athletic Hall of Fame. Juliet transferred to Bradley University and competed on both the softball and cross country teams. The five chapter titles are: 1) Achieving Perspective, 2) Winning the Mental Game, 3) Training to Win, 4) Winning Matches, and 5) Parenting and Coaching Effectively. Helpful appendices are also included on such topics as nutrition for wrestlers and goal-setting.
