About the author:
Marion was born in Buffalo, New York. She has spent over 40 years photographing preschool children. She believes that books and reading are an important part of a child's growth and development. Reading has always been an integral part of raising her own children. As a mother, and now grandmother (Gigi to her grandchildren), she believes there is nothing like the feeling of your child snuggled up close to you while you read him or her a story. Many years ago she began reading to her children and now she continues this wondrous time with her grandchildren.
Marion says: "Reading is a time to share, to laugh, to play, to discover, and to use your imagination. I am excited to offer this picture storybook to you and your child with the hope that you will be creating wonderful, long lasting memories. Also, remember to check out your local library for special children's programs."
Today, I think I'll be a...Flamingo!
A little red headed girl uses her imagination, pretending to be a Flamingo, telling a story about her wonderful African animal friends, a Monkey, a Zebra, a Giraffe and an Elephant.
The Flamingo calls her friends and invites them to a picnic under the acacia tree near the west bank of the lake. But, when an uninvited guest appears unexpected mystery, fun, and hilarity follow.
This book uses beautiful photographs taken in Kenya and the United States to illustrate the story.
A fun read aloud book to spark the imagination.
