Harvesting First Lines in Fiction
Gene G. Bradbury
Harvesting First Lines is the sixth book of poetry by author Gene G. Bradbury.
The first lines of any book invite the reader to read further. The first line of the story must grab our interest. If it doesn't, it's unlikely we will read on. First lines move us to ask: What is going to happen next? Is this a book I want to read? Is this an author with whom I wish to spend time? Could this book become a favorite?
The poetry that follows each first line is Gene's response to the author's first words. Creativity, insightful pondering and kindness all add to the charm of his poetry.
