About the author:
In a previous life, Rod Stephens studied mathematics, but during his stay at MIT he discovered the joys of computer algorithms and he hasn't looked back. Since then he's worked on an eclectic assortment of applications in such diverse fields as automated repair dispatching, billing, telephone switch programming, fuel tax collections, scientific visualization, wastewater treatment, concert ticket sales, cartography, optometry, and coaching tools for professional football players. His favorite topics remain algorithms and graphics.
Rod has been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for more than 14 years. He consults (email him if you want help with an interesting application), maintains his web sites, and occasionally speaks at users' group meetings and conferences.
He has written more than 30 books, some of which have been translated into languages from all over the world, and more than 250 magazine articles. He's even created a few video training courses.
