About the author:
I was born in Los Angeles and now make my home in Divide, Colorado. An avid reader (my parents tell everyone they had to move from our first home because I finished the local library), I always wanted to "fix" stories so the characters did what I wanted, in books, television, and the movies. Once I began writing, I found this wasn't always possible, as evidenced when the mystery I intended to write rapidly became a romance.

However, my entry into the world of writing can be attributed to a "mistake" when my son mentioned the Highlander television series on a visit home. Being the "good mother" I began watching the show and soon connected with the world of fanfiction, first as a reader, then as a critique giver, and then, one brave weekend, I wrote my first short story.

Things snowballed and soon I was writing my first original novel. Much later, I mentioned something about a recent Highlander episode to my son, and he said, "Oh, I've never actually watched the show, I just thought the concept was cool." Little did he know what he'd started.

I love getting into the minds of my characters, turning them loose in tight spots and seeing what they do. Too often, they surprise me.

My published works include the Pine Hills Police Series, the Blackthorne, Inc. series as well as the Romantic Suspense novel, What's in a Name? and the Mapleton Mystery series. I've also published numerous short stories with The Wild Rose Press.

I'm an active member of Romance Writers of America, and its Kiss of Death chapter, as well as Mystery Writers of America. When I'm not writing, or watching wildlife from my window, I'm probably reading.ave common ground for discussions.

Little did she know she would enter the world of writing, first via fanfiction, then through Internet groups, and finally with groups with real, live partners. Her first publications were short stories, but she found more freedom in longer works and began what she thought was a mystery. Her daughters told her it was a romance so she began learning more about the genre and craft. She belongs to both the Romance Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America.

Now a multi-published, award winning author, Terry resides with her husband and their adopted shelter dog in the mountains of Colorado. You can find her online at terryodell.com.

Identity Crisis

A Blackthorne, Inc. Romantic Suspense

Authored by Terry Odell

Award-winning author Terry Odell delivers another adventure romance with Identity Crisis, the seventh installment in the Blackthorne, Inc. series. Readers will enjoy the chase and suspense of Holly Granger's and Brett Cashman's Colorado love story.

Not following orders might cost him his dream job, but it could save her life.

Brett Cashman yearns for a job as a Blackthorne, Inc. covert operative. But does he want to help people, or is he after the rush danger brings? Brett has the skills, but as one of the only recruits with no military background, he's having trouble adjusting to the whole taking-orders gig. With a last chance to prove himself, Brett must protect a woman who has no idea she's in danger. The catch? He's not allowed to tell her why he's inserted himself into her life.

Holly Granger ran away from her wealthy daughter-of-a-rock star lifestyle in her teens, when she couldn't face the notoriety. She's changed her name, found an inconspicuous career in middle-management, and gets through each day trying to avoid being noticed. Her parents never made any effort to find her, so why is someone from their rock star days after her now? And why is he accusing her-falsely-of treason? Will she have to disappear again?

An apparent chance encounter with Brett sends Holly into what she considers an alternate universe. She wants no part of it, but when it's obvious someone is threatening her safety, she reluctantly accepts Brett's protection.

It doesn't take long for Brett to get another order from on high he's having trouble following-Blackthorne's number one rule: "Do not get involved with the principal." Can he follow the rules, or will his attraction to Holly cost him his chance to become a Blackthorne operative?
