Mothers & Lovers
Artist/Band: James Fox Higgins
Mothers & Lovers is the third solo studio album by James Fox Higgins. His most personal album to date, each song telling a story from his own life, or the lives of those close to him, James Fox Higgins produced this album over two years, recording tracks in Sydney, Byron Bay, and Los Angeles.
Leaving on from his throwback tribute to the mid seventies, 1975, this album draws on his late-70s/early-80s influences in the genre now referred to as "Yacht Rock". With the flavours of Hall & Oates, the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, and Christopher Cross mixed in with the more modern influence of artists like Incognito, Allen Stone, Mayer Hawthorne and D'Angelo, Mothers & Lovers is James' most expansive and daring album to date.
