Cover Creator for CDs

CD Project Icons

There are five artwork components for CDs:

Icon Description
Cover Booklet Outside

Booklet Outside - A single piece of artwork, folded in half to create the front and back covers of the CD booklet. The booklet is inserted in the front cover of the jewel case, so the front cover of your booklet is also the front cover of your CD, and the back cover of your booklet is the left-inside artwork viewable when you open the CD case.

Cover Booklet Inside

Booklet Inside - A single piece of artwork, folded in half to create the two inner pages of the CD booklet. The inside cover booklet pages are what the customer will see when they take the booklet out of the CD case and open it.

Tray Card Front

Tray Card Inside - The right-side artwork in an open jewel case, which will be partly covered when a disc is in the case, but visible when the disc is removed.

Tray Card Back

Tray Card Outside - A single piece of artwork, which creates the back cover artwork on the CD jewel case, plus the two case spines. This is traditionally were artists put their track listings and include basic title information on the edges/spine.

Disc Face

Disc Face - The artwork printed directly on the CD.

CD Tasks

Here are descriptions of the key CD tasks to help get you started. Keep in mind that not all tasks are included with every CD template.

Themes

A theme consists of a set of fonts and optional images to be used with your artwork.

Background Image

You have three options for your CD's artwork and disc face images: use the default template image from your chosen theme, upload your own image, or choose an image from our Image Gallery.

Title

Cover Creator automatically populates the title you provided when you set up your project. If you change the title name on your artwork, you may need to contact support to have it changed in your account.

Track List

Most templates have an option to include a track list on your CD booklet outside and tray card outside. The track list can be formatted using one of four styles. If you do not want to include a track list, uncheck the Visible box. If you do include a track list, be sure to update your tracks' time-lengths from "0:00" to the appropriate lengths to ensure your files pass the review process.
