Web-Based Series "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" Now Brought to DVD via CreateSpace DVD on Demand Technology; Available Exclusively on Amazon.com

Joss Whedon, creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," licenses new series to CreateSpace for multi-platform release on Amazon.com, reaching cult followers of the Internet hit as well as millions of Amazon.com customers

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Dec. 18, 2008 – CreateSpace, part of the Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) group of companies, today announced "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" DVD and soundtrack CD featuring Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion will be available for the first time this December exclusively on Amazon.com using the CreateSpace DVD and CD distribution solution.

"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," which originated as a musical film solely for Internet distribution, is a satire about an aspiring villain (Harris) who sings, pines for the girl next door (Day) and plots ways to defeat hero-type Captain Hammer (Fillion). "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" was written and produced by Joss Whedon - the mastermind behind such hit TV shows as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Firefly," as well as the feature film "Serenity" - and family members during the Writers Guild of America strike. The exclusive Amazon.com DVD release will include never before seen behind-the-scenes features, including "Evil League of Evil" application videos from fans, as well as "Commentary!–The Musical" in which the DVD commentary is sung by Harris, Day, Fillion and the writing team.

CreateSpace, a leader in Disc on Demand services, enables Whedon's creation to be released on DVD and CD in time for the holidays and reach millions of Amazon.com customers with minimal risk and without the cost of traditional distribution. Whedon chose CreateSpace in order to bring his vision to DVD and CD quickly and because of the low-risk, low-cost model. The video and soundtrack also will be available as digital downloads via Amazon Video on Demand and Amazon MP3.

"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" was always meant to be part of a new wave of (somewhat old-fashioned) entertainment," said Whedon. "The next step in that plan relies entirely on CreateSpace - a system that creates the exact supply for our entirely unpredictable demand. By offering it on DVD and download through Amazon, CreateSpace allows us to reach a broad audience base while maintaining our independence and furthering the internet ethos that started this whole mess."

"The CreateSpace distribution model is a low-cost, 'fast to market' solution for independent visionaries like Joss Whedon," said Dana LoPiccolo-Giles, co-founder and managing director of CreateSpace. "The time efficiency of on-demand ensured that the title would be available in time for Christmas, and the multi-platform approach gives the end consumer choices on how to enjoy the content."

"Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" DVD and CD are available exclusively on Amazon.com. The CD soundtrack is currently available, and the DVD is available for pre-order and will be released on Dec. 19. All on-demand titles are eligible for Amazon.com expedited shipping options, including FREE Two-Day Shipping with Amazon Prime.

"Joss Whedon has long had an innovative approach to entertainment, and we're pleased to collaborate with him to make 'Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog' available for the first time on DVD exclusively on Amazon.com," said Peter Faricy, vice president, music and movies, Amazon.com. "Now, Amazon customers - and Joss Whedon fans - can enjoy the adventures of Dr. Horrible not only on their PCs or Macs, but now on DVD, which includes a variety of never-before-seen special features."
