CHARLESTON, S.C. – Aug. 17, 2009 – CreateSpace, part of the Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) group of companies, today announced New Line Records, Sony Pictures and Lionsgate have made a selection of soundtracks for each production company's movie and TV show titles available to Amazon.com customers through the CreateSpace on-demand service. CD soundtracks for popular August releases District 9, Julie & Julia, starring Meryl Streep, and The Time Traveler's Wife, starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, are now available on Amazon.com through CreateSpace Disc on-Demand.

In the last year, a growing number of production studios have turned to CreateSpace's on-demand manufacturing platform to quickly release soundtrack albums for popular films and television shows in digital and CD formats for distribution. Recent movie and television show soundtracks and scores produced via CreateSpace's Disc on-Demand service include New Line Records' The Informant!, The Time Traveler's Wife, Observe and Report and Four Christmases; Sony Pictures' District 9, Julie & Julia and The Taking of Pelham 123; Lionsgate's Repo: The Genetic Opera, Mad Men, Weeds and Crash; and The Jim Henson Company's Sid the Science Kid and Jim Henson's Pajanimals.

"Disc on-Demand is an economically viable solution for production studios to make movie soundtracks available to fans with very little risk," said Dana LoPiccolo-Giles, managing director of CreateSpace. "With CreateSpace, studios don't have to estimate market demand since they can get content on the market quickly without investing in inventory."

"Working with CreateSpace gives us the flexibility to accommodate consumers' demand for physical copies of our motion picture soundtracks," said Lia Vollack-Friedman, President of Worldwide Music for Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. "While digital delivery systems are an increasingly popular way to access music, this innovative service allows fans of our films an alternative way to easily and legally purchase physical copies of our music on-demand and have it sent straight to their homes."

CreateSpace also recently made a number of out-of-print soundtracks available again through the "Back From the Vault" program. Labels such as Milan Records are using CreateSpace's on-demand manufacturing to keep notable soundtracks - including those from My Best Friend's Wedding, The Santa Clause and Primal Fear - in stock and available to customers.
